USGBC's 2015 Astounding Advocate Award: Renae Hesselink

The USGBC volunteer awards, which were given out at USGBCs annual mid-year meeting, Convergence, recognize individuals for their incredible work and leadership over the course of the year. In 2015, six awards were given out to a total of nine individuals and groups whose dedication and commitment to assisting in USGBC’s mission of creating a more sustainable built environment is demonstrated by their passion and hard work through this installment, we highlight one of USGBCs most vocal advocates in the great state of Michigan, Renae Hesselink. Renae is a founding board member of the USGBC West Michigan chapter and is winner of the 2015 Astounding Advocate USGBCs representative with the Grand Rapids Public School District and USGBC West Michigans Green Schools Advocacy Committee Chair, Renae recently helped the district see the value in bringing on a Green Schools Fellow. She has also spearheaded West Michigans first of Battle of the Buildings benchmarking challenge.
